Nishant Sindhu India Captain – It was a second consecutive win for India under 19 team. Nishant Sindhu was captain in this particular match because regular captain and wise captain both are not fit for the match. India’s under 19 new captain Nishant said we are hoping our regular captain and wise captain along with few players could recover soon and get ready for next upcoming matches. He said support staff is doing really great job and providing every thing which is needed.
Tim Tector Irland Captain – Tim said they have to give credit to Indian batting line up they came and put the pressure straightaway on us. Our bowling was not up to the mark although we did some good bowling at the end. He added we were happy to restrict India at the score of 307 because it was a good batting surface but we did not able to avail the benefits of the same surface, again we have to give credit to team India. Loosing early wickets put us on the backfoot.
Harnoor singh and raghuvanshi partnership
It was a good start for India u19, opener Harnoor Singh and Krishraghuvanshi gave a splendid and sustainable start to India and manage to build a partnership of 125 runs for first wicket. Raghuvanshi made 79 runs whereas Harnoor has scored 88 runs and India did not loosed any wicket till 25th over. In 26th over Krishraghuvanshi was send back to pavilion by Jamie Forbes but Harnoor went going till 35th over. In the 35th over Harnoor was out by Matthew Humphreys at the score of 88 runs. But it was too late for Ireland because India was already on a riding side, and this partnership gave India to build a huge score of 307 runs. In reply Ireland did shaky start and whole team bowled out at 133 runs, couldn’t able to play full 50 overs as well.
It was a bad start for Ireland and they loose their early wickets in no time. While chasing 308 runs Liam Doherty able to score only 7 runs and Jack Dickson was sent back to pavilion at zero score. Ravi Kumar was responsible for the dismissal of Liam Doherty and Dickson got out by RS Hangargekar. Ireland did not able to manage their innings and kept loosing wickets in regular intervals which resulted in 133 all out, and they not even able to play all 50 overs. From Ireland squad only Nathan McGuire and Scott Macbeth fought in the last overs and contributed valuable 39 runs for the 7th wicket partnership, however it was not good enough to save them from the defeat.
